If you would have told me a year ago I'd see Ephraim in cans, I'd have laughed until I pooped myself. But here we are.

Põhjala Cellar Series Öö XO. They sure know what they like in a Baltic Porter in Estonia (Estonia is one of the Baltic states, used to be part of the USSR) of course.
    Cheers!

With apologies to any Dodgers or Astros fans out there in BA'dom, I am liking how the pennant championships are playing out. I had the Braves and White Sox in the Series, with the Braves winning it all. They are looking damn near unbeatable right now. Last night's game coulda' been different if Kershaw got the start. And it would be interesting to see Tampa Bay record two sports championships in a span of one month.

    YellowBelly (Ireland) - Castaway.

While this is a bit one-dimensional, that is to be expected of the style and it does have a lovely, natural passion fruit presence to it that is sweet, tangy and a little musty, underlined by a good lactic acidity that is rather noticeable, but not quite mouth-puckering. Overall this does not fit the season well, but should certainly make for a very enjoyable and refreshing summer sour.

What day 3 of retirement looks like, and a quiet week. Next week I’ll be a bit more uh... active.

Verrry nice, but at 10% ABV, a 16 oz can is like drinking 3.2 oz. of a favorite 100 proof whiskey. Plan your schedule for productivity and safety accordingly. [IMG]

Have a good Wednesday. I slept in again. I had dinner with an old college friend last night near my old apartment and had a food coma when I got back. When I woke up I headed down to hang out with my buddy downstairs. My girlfriend called me for 25 minutes since she was lonely, and then me and my friends watched Birds of Prey, which was a really fucking good movie. I came back up to my mostly empty apartment and slept on my lone recliner around 5AM. This is pretty much all that is left, I might have to take 2 trips to get it all back. Found some BA mags while I was cleaning out. It says my subscription expired in 3/2014. Not sure if I'll keep them, but just goes to show you how long I've been supporting this site. The Short's Sour is awesome as expected.

Just poured an Eater of Dreams from Electric Brewing and dumped it on the spot. Canned on 8/12; I guess they aren't kidding when they say drink within 37 days. It smelled like pure garboge, and yes I mean GARBOGE. That is actually more offensive than garbage. I guess I'll have this while I contemplate what hazy to possibly reach for next. Cheers, advocates!!!

Stone Espresso Totalitarian, easy way to start the day despite the higher ABV. Heading for my favorite Vegas Thai at Archi’s with family before hitting a few breweries along the way.

    Cheers!

Wow a beer so far in my past, I liked that beer immensely. My favorite TGIF beer used to be Moylans Hopsickle, it surely pulled the pressure plug.

After a four pack of each of the latest Hubbard's Cave Fresh IIPA releases (V16, and single-hop Centennial), I can definitely state I preferred Centennial.

Not sure what varietals they used in V16. It's good, but 1-hop Centennial is great. And now I'm out of both.

    Cheers!

If this isn't one of Tired Hands' absolute best beers, then I don't know sh*t about IPAs. Seriously. Holy banoodles, advocates. This f*cking Nelson is on fire right now. And it tastes even better after letting it breathe a few weeks. Can I get a witness? Amen, Hunter. Peace...

    De Moersleutel (Netherlands) - Citra.

De Moersleutel make absolutely fantastic stouts very consistenly, but I've never been impressed by their IPAs and this is no exception. It's way too sweet, remiscent of artifical sweetener and a bit boozy as well, while the hops feel muddled, overripe and not all that expressive, which is fairly typical of their IPA flavour profile, unfortunately.
